Technology keeps promises

Customers do not care which team owns a system. They care whether the company delivers what it promised.

Many companies still talk about technology as if it were a separate project. There is the business, and then there is digital transformation happening somewhere beside it.

Customers do not experience it that way. They experience one company: the website, booking process, response time, payment options, information before departure and help they receive when something changes. Every broken connection between systems becomes a broken promise.

For travel companies, this is especially visible. A journey crosses discovery, advice, booking, preparation, payment, travel and support. Each moment can build trust or damage it.

The mistake is to buy tools before agreeing on the problem. A new platform will not fix unclear ownership. A dashboard will not fix a metric nobody uses. An AI assistant will not fix a knowledge base that is outdated.

Start with the promise. What should be easier for the traveller? What should be faster for the Team Member? What decision should be more reliable? Then build the data and workflows around that answer.

The goal is not to digitise everything. The goal is to remove avoidable friction.
